Hey Friend provides daily SMS accountability services to help women show up for themselves every single day. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can manage your information.

  • First Name — to personalize your experience
  • Email Address — for account communications and updates
  • Phone Number — to deliver your daily SMS messages
  • Message Content — the personal message you write to yourself
  • Delivery Preferences — your chosen delivery time and message duration

Information we collect when you use our services:

  • Sign-up date and time
  • Message delivery status and timestamps
  • Opt-out or cancellation activity

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve Hey Friend. Specifically, we use your information to:

  • Deliver your personalized daily SMS messages

  • Improve Hey Friend based on how people use our service
  • Send waitlist updates and launch announcements to users who have opted in

3. SMS Messaging

When you provide your phone number and check the consent checkbox on our sign-up form at heyfriend.me, you agree to receive daily SMS accountability messages from Hey Friend. Message frequency is once per day at your chosen delivery time. Message and data rates may apply.

You can stop receiving messages from us at any time:

  • Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe immediately
  • Reply HELP to any message for support information
  • Email hey@heyfriend.me to manage your preferences

4. Information We Share

We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We share information with third parties only in the following limited circumstances:

With your consent:

We will share personal information outside of Hey Friend when we have your consent to do so.

With our service providers:

We work with trusted companies to help provide our services. These companies have access to your information only to perform services on our behalf and are obligated not to use it for any other purpose:

  • Twilio — provides SMS delivery services
  • JotForm — provides our sign-up form functionality
  • Airtable — provides our database infrastructure

For legal reasons:

We may share information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal process.

We will never sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.

5. Your Choices

You have choices regarding the information we collect and how it is used:

  • You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP
  • You can request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing hey@heyfriend.me

We work hard to protect Hey Friend and our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of information we hold. We use industry-standard security measures to protect all stored data. Your message content is private and only accessible to you.

Hey Friend is not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information of a child under 18, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

We change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your explicit consent. We will post any Privacy Policy changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice including, for certain services, email notification of Privacy Policy changes.

This Privacy Policy applies to all services offered by SHL Family LLC under the Hey Friend brand, including heyfriend.me and Hey Friend SMS services.

This policy does not apply to services offered by other companies or individuals, including services that may be linked from our website.
